Paint It Turquoise Pop Art Painting on Unframed A4 Paper
Paint It Turquoise Pop Art Painting on Unframed A4 Paper
After recently painting some shelves I realised that I love the texture and look of freshly squeezed paint in any context, and so was inspired created this simple but effective A4 painting. I chose the colour turquoise as it's a current favourite of mine. It could be re-done with any colour you like however, just use the 'commission me' button to request a specific version!
The 1960's pop artist Roy Lichtenstein is one of my biggest influences, and whilst he's mainly known for his huge comic strip paintings, later on in life he started to make paintings about painting itself. It's in this spirit that I've created this work, showing a hand holding a pleasingly dripping paintbrush that's midway through painting the paper turquoise.
The end result is an incredibly bright and vivid image that would brighten up any room in the house.
It was created using acrylic paint and Posca pens on high quality paper.
PLEASE NOTE: the painting doesn't come framed, but I've taken photos of it in a white A4 frame. There's also a photo of a person holding the piece to give you an idea of the size.
8.3 inches x 11.7 inches
21 cm x 29 cm
Roughly 1mm thick
I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol, David Hockney, and Patrick Caulfield, but also by modern graphic designers.
