This new canvas painting depicts a boiled egg in an egg cup with a bit a bit of runny egg yolk dripping down the sides. A piece of toast for dipping, with a little of the yolk dripping off, is pictured floating above it. In the UK we call this set-up 'egg and soldiers'.

Eggs are a regular theme in my art, and the first painting I ever sold involved eggs. This painting is a continuation of that theme but on a larger scale canvas than usual. As usual in my work I'm less interested in realism, or healthy 'fine-dining' food, instead I prefer to explore the bright colours and nostalgic memories associated with comfort food, represented it in a graphic or pop art style.

It's a bold and bright piece of art that would brighten up any room in your home, although it would look especially great in the kitchen.

It is painted on a stretched cotton canvas that is ready to hang, and signed on the back as pictured.
